Hallo,

ich plane, Discourse auf einer neuen Subdomain zu installieren. Die beste Option für das Hosting ist Digital Ocean.

Ich verfüge nur über grundlegende Linux-Kenntnisse. Ich weiß jedoch, wie man Discourse manuell installiert, SSL aktiviert usw.

Aber ich habe ein paar Fragen:

  1. Da ich keinen Systemadministrator habe, welche Option ist die beste für die Installation und Wartung von Discourse? Manuell oder mit einem Klick?

  2. Ich habe von Betriebssystem-Updates gehört. Viele Mitglieder dieses Forums empfehlen, Software-Patches regelmäßig zu installieren. In diesem Fall, welche Option ist die beste? Mit einem Klick oder manuell?

I’ve been hired to help people who ran discourse for years without an update if any kind.

People are sometimes confused by the way that the one click install tries to run every time you log in to the droplet.

I recommend to follow the standard install cloud instructions and find digital Ocean docs for maintaining the OS.
