Double latest json requests

I started noticing we are getting double latest json requests

To repro

  1. Visit meta
  2. Click “new”
  3. Click “latest”

You get a double json request.

@eviltrout can you have a look at this, concerned about the extra load this is imposing.

Was related to screen filling logic. Simple fix:
