Most people use ... (dot dot dot) instead of … (the proper ellipsis mark), but dots are automatically removed at the end of a title.
Would that be possible to implement a specific case so that “dot dot dot” in titles are no longer removed (or even better: automatically replaced by ellipsis) ?

While not specifically for an ellipsis, we do have the title prettify setting, which when disabled would allow for ... (it would also enable other things in titles like all caps and !!!! or ???? so you’d want to keep an eye out for bad titles)
You’d likely need a plugin if you wanted to check for ... and replace it with …
Are you running into titles that should have an ellipsis quite often? Our reasoning was that there isn’t much of a difference between

I agree that a full stop makes no difference at the end of a title (and is not used, as a general rule, at the end of titles, headings or captions).
Conversely, ellipsis has several meanings and will definitely make a difference if present:
I sell a bike, a pair of skis, (slightly weird, is there something missing? And why merging these two items in a single topic?)
I sell a bike, a pair of skis, ... (ok, probably selling all my sports gear, there are plenty of things and I write a single message for everything, that makes sense).
I think there are quite a lot of examples, where ellipsis has an unfinished thought meaning, where a title would completely lost its meaning if ellipsis is absent:
This software is not the most user friendly one, but
This software is not the most user friendly one, but...
To my point of view, it would clearly be an improvement to the actual title prettify settings to allow this specific punctuation.
This will not be happening. If you want that odd case, disable the rule.
i will rather tune it so that it behaves exactly the way i want.

Si à la fin du titre d’un nouveau message, l’utilisateur ajoute trois points ASCII, ils seront silencieusement supprimés, modifiant le sens du titre de l’utilisateur.
Il pourrait ne jamais remarquer ce qui s’est passé.
Nous préférons que les titres soient descriptifs, donc se terminer par des points de suspension n’est généralement pas souhaitable.

Et, juste pour information, vous avez tendance à désigner tous les utilisateurs par « il ». Si vous pouviez être moins genré/peut-être ne pas utiliser la troisième personne si fréquemment, ce serait très apprécié. 
Eh bien, je suppose que cela signifie simplement que nous devrons tous utiliser ce caractère Unicode « … ».
Mais je vous dis que trois points, c’est différent d’une période supplémentaire accidentelle, voire de deux points.
Sinon, autant supprimer « ? », « ! » et autres ponctuations significatives.
J’ai repéré celui-ci dans les Sujets similaires, je vais donc les combiner. 
Je suis tombé sur ceci aujourd’hui en publiant sur notre forum interne.
J’essayais de faire valoir que notre produit utilise à l’excès les points de suspension avec un titre comme :
Utilisation excessive de…
Ce qui s’est transformé en
Utilisation excessive de
Encore et encore et encore. 
Ce qui a finalement fonctionné était
Utilisation excessive de . . . .
(J’ai dû en utiliser 4 car le dernier a été automatiquement supprimé

Je pense que pour une utilisation occasionnelle, vous pouvez utiliser la solution de contournement de Jidanni et copier-coller le caractère :
Bien que lorsque j’utilise mon téléphone pour créer un sujet et que je le titre avec Over-use of… (en tapant les 3 points séparément), il le convertit également en points de suspension fonctionnels/visibles. Je ne sais pas si tous les téléphones font cette conversion, mais cela pourrait être une autre façon de contourner la restriction.
