Embedded comments on wordpress and cookies

One of the top tech-blog sites in Spain, Hipertextual, have decided to close his posts to comments and subsitute them by a Slack channel :facepalm:

I tweeted to them to recommend Discourse, and one friend asks if Discourse inserts some cookies on the page in the WordPress site…
I think that the plugin only inserts the comments (and a link to go to the discussion), but did you know if it does insert something else?

I don’t really understand what you are asking? We are not a live embeddable comment system like Disqus. You can see how it works at http://blog.codinghorror.com

That is what i thought, i only would want to confirm that the Discourse-wp-plugin doesn’t insert any cookie or additional code due to the concern of my friend.
