Of note, if the Event does not have a name, this falls back to creating a chat channel for the Category. It seems to tie this nicely with the Event participants.
However, if a second Event in that Category also doesn’t have a title, you get an internal server error when you attempt to Create the topic or Save the Edit (not when using the Event modal) - this is quite offputting!
It might be better if it fell back to using the Topic title instead (as the Event itself does), which would keep things quite a bit tidier and more robust.
We will get this sorted over the next few weeks, @nathank just confirming, is this the only issue you noticed with the new system? I noticed you mentioned it is a bit flaky in another post.
