Sorry, just to add (and you may have realised by now), the example setup in the OP uses ‘box’ format:

I have installed the floating button, but I can’t make it work on mobile together with the regular New Topic button.
Also, would it be possible for non-logged users to see the button and when they click, the register or sign-up window comes up?

I am still trying to figure out how to have both ways of creating a topic in mobile view:
