Im a administrator on a forum I speak with the owner a lot but recently he hasn’t been responding to discord or forum messages so quickly our forum became out of date I couldnt update discourse version for somereason it was grayed out I think he did something with it so we became outdated to the point where he needs to do

cd /var/discourse
./launcher rebuild app\

But because their not answering they haven’t done this which means our forum is still out of date how do I then resolve the issue??

Any ideas on how I can possible get the forum back up-to-date or get the owner online again?

If he won’t upgrade it then you just use the old version and hope for the best. There’s nothing you can do (other than hack the server?)

The nuclear option would be to download the database and restore it on another domain that you control.

True if after a while he still isn’t back I may actually just Give up all hope lmao.

One thing I wanted to know is can discourse team update a forum for you?

They cannot do anything to a self hosted server they have nothing to do with it.

Ah makes sense well I guess I may just email them again and hope for the best
