[GER] Como instalar o Forum Per no Linux?

But how do I convert the IP of the Linux system in the domain loudtime.de?

You need a DNS host. Cloudflare.com provides that service for free, and it works very well.

A guide would be very cool from you

Hello Andy,

If you understand some English and Linux, the installation is actually quite simple.
Your port 80 is likely being used by Apache or Nginx.
This software must first be disabled on your system so that port 80 is not blocked.

I hope you are using a reasonable external mail system. The internal setup is very difficult!

However, if you are already struggling with the installation, I strongly advise against using Discourse.
No offense to your skills, but without sufficient English knowledge, you won’t get far.
It would be better to look for another (easier) system or purchase the Discourse system.
Just a friendly tip!

Best regards,
Sven

But in my opinion, what is the forum for? Where at least help can be obtained, hm? Many don’t think about that.

So, keep your feet on the ground!

PS: I’m not paying the $100 for the system? For German people, that’s expensive enough in our country, remember that!

Hello Andy!

Here you can have Discourse installed for just $150, or $250 depending on what you need. After that, your ongoing costs are only $5 per month. https://www.literatecomputing.com/discourse-installation-packages/. You could probably find other options as well, even in the German-speaking region. If you have a budget, you could ask in Marketplace.

This guide is very good. And it is the only officially supported method to install Discourse.

Perhaps it wouldn’t be bad if someone translated this into German, but then the translation would need to be kept up to date… Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

I think you could calm down a bit and show more patience. You have been offered a lot of help here by many very nice, generous people. Some of us even speak German! We are happy to help. But as I said, you do need some English to install a Discourse server.

Since you haven’t told us where you got the domain, none of us can tell you how to set up DNS for it. Though I once again suggest that if you need to be asking these questions, and aren’t able to find the answers for yourself with about 30 seconds on Google, this project may be a bit too advanced for you at this time. And really, this is discussed in the install guide you already have:

Your DNS controls should be accessible from the place where you purchased your domain name. Create a DNS A record for the discourse.example.com subdomain in your DNS control panel, pointing to the IP address of your cloud instance where you are installing Discourse.

What are your Linux skills like?

Why would you want software that you can’t install and manage yourself?

Don’t you want to learn how to do it? That is, read up on the subject and learn by doing? (There are dozens of good installation guides here in the forum and plenty of support. You should at least have a little command of the English language. — Google “DeepL”). The people here offer assistance, but they are not your service providers.

What is so much about 100 dollars/euros for a Discourse installation? If I really have no idea at all, I would seek advice from professionals.

Happy New Year

    https://www.communiteq.com/
    https://www.nodechef.com/discourse-hosting

Obrigado!
