How to block an IP range? "Screened IPs" not being blocked

“Screened IPs” blocks registrations and logins from blocked IPs that match, but not existing sessions.

I’m not sure where (if) we document this.

Looks like this is poorly described in the admin interface. For comparison, Sreened emails tab is described as follows:

When someone tries to create a new account, the following email addresses will be checked and the registration will be blocked, or some other action performed

Screened IPs tab is described differently and is more ambiguous:

IP addresses that are being watched. Individual IP addresses can be allowlisted.

We can change this to match:

I don’t actually know what it does, I would have to source dive.

I think it only prevents account creation but I’m not sure.

Yeah, agreed. I just copied over the text from the screened emails tab. I guess we are vague here because it depends on how the spam filtering is set up on a given site? Warrants testing, I reckon.
