After running the community for a while, we may need to adjust the community’s content.
This article introduces how to move topics in bulk from one category to another in Discourse.
For example, we need to move the topics below in bulk from the current category to another category called Database.
Steps
The relevant steps are described below.
Select
Select the topics you need to move.
This is the first step of the operation. As shown in the figure below, select the icon in front of the topic.
Then all topics become selectable, and then click the adjust button on the right side of the page.
Batch Operation
When you select batch operation, a small dialog box will pop up in the current browser interface.
In this small dialog box, you can choose to set the category.
Select Set Category
In the subsequent interface, select the category to set.
Then save.
After the above steps, you can complete the batch move of topic categories.
It should be noted that the batch move of topic categories will not change the sorting of the current topics. If you adjust the category within the topic by editing, the adjusted topic category will be sorted to the first position.
This is because adjusting the category within the topic is equivalent to modifying the topic. Modifications to topics in Discourse will update the topic modification date. The sorting of pages on the Discourse homepage is based on the modified time of the topic, so the modified topic will be sorted to the forefront.
