I’m having this problem as well on a forum running v2.3.0.beta9. I haven’t restored from backups. It’d be good to know why it’s happening and what we can do to restore the missing uploads. The good news is that the missing uploads seem to be in the tombstone, so hope isn’t lost..

So far, I’ve rebuilt the app and run rake uploads:missing, but that hasn’t helped.

Problem solved! rake uploads:recover_from_tombstone did the trick. It’d still be good to understand why this happened…

Just checking in again. Does anyone know the answers to the following questions from a month ago?

  1. What’s the difference between a missing upload and a missing post upload? (Last I checked, my site appeared to have 196 more of the latter.)

  2. Why does Discourse report images that haven’t been migrated to the new upload scheme as “missing”?

  3. If this is expected behavior, how can I migrate the 200+ images like this on my site to the new upload scheme?

  • missing upload - The upload record is found in DB but the file is missing in the file storage.
  • missing post upload - The upload record is not found in DB for an upload URL in the post.

I think those old scheme uploads are not found in the database and/or filesystem too.

You can do it by enabling the setting using the below command. It will migrate those upload if they’re found in DB and filesystem.

SiteSetting.migrate_to_new_scheme = true

You need to enter that into the rails console as it’s a hidden site setting.

then exit, and rebuild?

How will I know that this command has been successful? Should I try running rake posts:missing_uploads again after enabling this hidden site setting in the Rails console? Or maybe PostCustomField.where(name: Post::MISSING_UPLOADS)?

Er wird im Hintergrund als Job ausgeführt und migriert. Sobald er abgeschlossen ist, wird der Wert der Site-Einstellung SiteSetting.migrate_to_new_scheme wieder auf false zurückgesetzt. Führe dann erneut die Aufgabe rake posts:missing_uploads aus.

Okay, ich habe gerade deinen Rat befolgt, und das Ergebnis sieht vielversprechend aus. Zuerst bin ich in den Discourse-Container eingestiegen:

$ cd /var/discourse
$ sudo ./launcher enter app

Schließlich habe ich SiteSetting.migrate_to_new_scheme auf true gesetzt und die Rails-Konsole verlassen:

# rails c
[1] pry(main)> SiteSetting.migrate_to_new_scheme
=> false
[2] pry(main)> SiteSetting.migrate_to_new_scheme = true
=> true
[3] pry(main)> exit

Nach einiger Zeit habe ich bestätigt, dass der Wert von SiteSetting.migrate_to_new_scheme tatsächlich auf false zurückgesetzt wurde, und rake posts:missing_uploads erneut ausgeführt:

Die Ausgabe ist mehr oder weniger gleich, was wahrscheinlich bedeutet, dass alle Posts, die das alte Upload-Schema verwendeten, auf das neue Schema migriert wurden. Allerdings enthält das Verzeichnis uploads immer noch viele nummerierte Unterordner:

Was wäre der einfachste Weg herauszufinden, welche (falls vorhanden) Posts auf die Bilder in diesen Unterordnern verweisen? Eine einfache Abfrage in der Rails-Konsole wäre völlig ausreichend.

Es könnte auch viele leere Verzeichnisse enthalten. Ich denke, du solltest sie alle ignorieren.

Die folgende Abfrage kann dir dabei helfen.

Diese Ausgabe ist unendlich lang, und ich sehe keine Möglichkeit, sie einfach in eine Datei zum Verarbeiten umzuleiten. (Das Beste, was ich tun kann, ist die Leertaste zu drücken, um eine Seite nach der anderen zu sehen… und ich habe das Ende noch nicht gesehen).

Wie könnten wir diese Ausgabe in eine Datei bekommen oder vielleicht den Nachrichtentext/Anhänge überspringen lassen?

Hmm… Ich habe gerade nachgeschaut (mit find . -maxdepth 1 -type d -empty | wc -l) und habe nur 19 leere nummerierte Verzeichnisse von insgesamt 262 gefunden (mit find . -maxdepth 1 -type d -iname '[0-9]*' | wc -l), also etwa 7 %. Ich denke also nicht, dass ich sie vollständig ignorieren sollte?
