How to install discourse on shared hosting?

Hi all, it seems for me that i cant find tutorial how to install discourse on dedicated hosting by simply copying files to public_html and starting intallation. I own bare metal machine with Windows Server 2022.

Can anyone help?

That guide is a bit difficult to find here but Google finds it:

You need access to shell, because Discourse works different way than using your web-root.

Windows Server is not supported.

btw, your Post and Title conflict.

Your Title says “shared”, your Post says “dedicated … bare metal”

That’s installing locally and not a standard install. You won’t be able to get support here if you install it that way. It’s also not clear to me that it’s not just a development install, which will run much more slowly than the docker install
