How to use permalinks from vanilla?

I have created a permalinks in discourse? how will I use this in my old vanilla website? Where should I setup and use the premalinks of discourse?

Do i need to setup something with nginx from the old forum? so whenver topics on old forum will be directed in the permalinks created to new discourse?
