While I haven’t pinpointed the exact steps to reproduce this behavior, I wanted to report it to see if collective experience might help identify the cause. Recently - possibly coinciding with the launch of the new review queue - I’ve noticed that items occasionally reappear in the queue immediately after being cleared.
This seems to happen primarily after taking “positive” actions, such as approving a post or topic. I recall seeing some of these reappear due to “AI spam-checking,” though I could be mistaken.
While the new queue and the AI check might be red herrings, the timing seems to align, so I’m mentioning them as potential leads…
I think that your observation is right. When a post needs to be approved and has been approved, it is sent as any new post to the AI spam check. If potential spam was detected, a new review item is created.
I made a PR to skip the AI check when the post was already checked and approved.
