Is there a setting that I can change to allow users to edit their own posts?

You can change the Edit post allowed groups site setting.
If you explore the Documentation category you’ll find some other helpful guides with tips and tricks on how to set up your community etc.

Also see post edit time.
Search settings for edit and look at the post category.
