Link click counters not displaying on new site for self-clicks

(Neal Magee) #1

We have a fairly new installation with only a couple dozen posts, but our inline click counters are not appearing. I have not modified any of the CSS at all, but wasn’t sure if they only show up after a certain base number has been reached? Or if there’s a setting that I’m missing?

I’m having the same issue. Using Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Default install. Any ideas?
Thanks
Nick

Let’s see if link counters are working here. Click this link?

Yes they seem to be working OK.

Clearly I meant on my own 2 Discourse installs  … They are both OOB v1.9.0.beta4 +89. Are there any settings I’m missing?

Thank you

@NickB I think I realized what was going on here not too long after I posted, but never came back to amend my note: the link counter is intelligent enough to not track when you click your own links. The link gets counts when other users click on it.

(@codinghorror and team have been smart enough to protect us from our most narcissistic selves. )

Can you test that particular scenario on your installation?

External links are not clicktracking
