We’re a small charity for sexual abuse survivors. We’re setting up a forum and would love some help setting it up so that safeguarding is in place. Safeguarding is obviously a really important part of our work!
We need a way to set up a report button that’s different from the flag options available so that users can alert us to concerns. Ideally, this would include the following options: Harmful content/Safeguarding concern/Inappropriate language/Risk of self-harm or suicide/Risk of harm to others/Other - please describe. This would then send a notification to the moderation dashboard and me, who could then acknowledge that we’ve received the report. For the users, what they see would depend on the option that was selected. If the option selected was Harmful content, Safeguarding concern or Inappropriate language, the post would be hidden until it is moderated. If the option selected was Risk of self-harm or suicide or Risk of harm to others, the post would display emergency protocol. If the option selected was Other, the user would be asked whether the post should be hidden until moderation or not.
We would also like another button for/way of flagging more immediate concerns. This would include the following options: I am worried about someone on this forum/I am worried about the person I am supporting (the survivor)/I am not safe and need immediate help. In this case, the system would display something like: Please call 999. This forum is not monitored 24/7. There would then be an email and text sent to our Safeguarding Officers.

We’re a charity and can offer a small amount. We’d love to work with someone who’d be prepared to do a lot of this work pro bono, and we could pay a little by way of thanks.
