Non riesco a capirlo bene. La mia migliore ipotesi è che tu abbia copiato in qualche modo un carattere invisibile tra i due punti e il //.
Forse prova a digitare il comando. Oppure, se l’hai digitato, prova a copiare e incollare.

Sì, grazie @pfaffman e @Moin , avevate entrambi ragione… Avevo copiato/incollato il comando
https://github.com/discourse/discourse.git /var/discourse nella console basata sul web in Hetzner
Ho provato a digitarlo invece nella console, e in effetti ha funzionato!
