Offering a Mailman-like sign-up process

I would describe our needs a little differently.

It’s not that we are mailing list centric. Sure, there are some who prefer email, but it’s a minority.

I would describe our ‘problem’ as more being related to the fact that we are a “heterogeneous community”.

I imagine large organizations (eg “enterprises”) having similar issues / use cases.

I think those use cases may be worth exploring more deeply if that’s an area that discourse wants to do better with in the future.
