Official warning pm notification feature

Good day,

Am starting to run tests on the moderation system with a dummy test user account, first check of the official warning system gave user a green envelope notification instead of red. Not sure if this may be a bug or not, here is screenshot:

This is by design, moving this off to feature.

It would be confusing for some PMs to trigger red vs green.

Oh alright, had thought this used to display as red but I agree that could be confusing.

Could be a good feature for notification to be different if user is being issued a warning.

The current changes have made official warnings and regular private messages very similar, which I believe has rendered them ineffective.

That is definitely a problem, are there other changes besides just the alert envelope color that have contributed to that?

Seems there are a lot of options about how to use the warning feature. Technically the main purpose may be just be to able to document the number of official warnings a member has been issued, which can be helpful instead of just issuing unofficial warnings which aren’t automatically registered by the system.

  1. The envelope color in notifications was red.
  2. The background color was yellowish.

Now both are gone :smiling_face_with_tear:.

The yellow background is the “staff color” feature I believe, that appears red for me may vary with theme light/dark colors.

It’s possible to still add that to text in a warning pm or other talk but may be better for that to be automatic for an official warning.

There could be some improvements if the team wants to develop new features for that or there may already be some good third-party options. Something like a temporary account suspension/silence until member responds to warning could help.
