It’s also a shame that there isn’t a default channel configuration. I’d like to have a settings profile to configure chat behavior, such as enabling discussion threads, so that future channels are pre-configured. Currently, you have to go back and configure each new channel individually.
It’s also unfortunate that only moderators or administrators can create channels. During an event, you might want to enable or disable the creation of a discussion channel, but that currently only works for admins or moderators.
Then again, I’m not sure if this can be improved or not, since the goal isn’t to break everything, and I think there are other priorities. Anyway, that’s just my feedback on the chat feature
