I’m getting a forum up and running and would like moderators, or another staff level, to be able to make categories. Hello and welcome @GreenKatie :slightly_smiling_face: There’s the moderators manage categories and groups admin setting that will allow moderators to create categories: [moderators manage categories and groups]

Thanks! I wasn’t sure if it allowed creation or just managing. Thanks for clarifying

That’s a good point. :slightly_smiling_face: I’ll see if we can update the description to something more like: Allow moderators to create and manage categories and groups

Seems like a good clarification for the setting description; I’ve updated it here: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/16492
