Emoji groups are now able to be pinned to the top of the emoji picker! And admins can import/export custom emojis in bulk.
Pinned emojis
Emoji groups are now able to be pinned to the top of the emoji picker! Through the site setting emoji_picker_pinned_groups via Admin > Emojis > Settings, admins can provide a list of emoji groups to move to the top of the picker. Both custom emoji groups and regular emoji groups can be pinned, so if your community really likes using flags, try adding flags to the list.
Bulk import/export of custom emojis
Admins can also now perform a bulk import or export of custom emojis. Previously, adding custom emojis was an extremely manual process, limited to only 10 images at once, with no ability to export at all.
Now, admins can use the new Import button, where they can select a single ZIP file with up to 1000 images and a CSV manifest to import. Admins will see a preview screen of all the emojis being added as a final confirmation. Here, the import can be reviewed for any conflicts or issues. When everything looks good, hit confirm and the new custom emojis are ready for use.
Admins can also export emojis by clicking on the Select to export button. Here emojis can be selected for export as a single ZIP file, ready to be imported to any other Discourse site with the same names and groups.
