AI-generated summary
The discussion Powered by Discourse with AI revolves around the display of the “Powered by Discourse” badge and the potential addition of “with AI” to it. EricGT suggests that some sites display the badge, but not all have AI enabled, while merefield and Jagster point out that self-hosted sites can also have AI capabilities. Falco clarifies that the badge indicates the use of Discourse software, not hosting, and questions EricGT’s suggestion to change the badge when Discourse AI is installed. sam notes that Discourse AI is advertised when AI shares are made, providing an example. The discussion concludes with EricGT thanking others and requesting to close the topic.
I am not hosted by CDCK but have AI (Chatbot, AI Topic Summary and bespoke) on three Discourse sites? There would also be nothing stopping me using Discourse AI plugin either?
I have too, as a selfhosted. And many others. I’m not totally sure if AI has such value that need advertising. And in Meta using AI is limited if we keep users in mind. On backstage happens more, of course.
@EricGT I’m struggling to understand what you are suggesting here.
That badge is about the forum using Discourse as the software, it doesn’t have anything to do with hosting.
For example, my self-hosted instance in a raspberry pi also shows it.
Are you suggesting changing the badge when Discourse AI is installed?
For the record we do advertise Discourse AI when you make AI shares.
For example: Silicon Valley Hot Dog Detection App - AI Conversation - Discourse Meta
Thanks.
