Removing more English words from common URL paths to improve localization

  1. /u/ is for Users. /t/ is for Topics. /g/ — for Groups?
  2. /u/ — list of Users. /t/ — 404 error :frowning:
  3. /c/ for Categories. /t/ for Topics. May be, /l/ for Labels (tags)?
1 « J'aime »

What’s the issue/question here?

1 « J'aime »

This is an idea of the previous conversation:

1 « J'aime »

I see, @sam asked for a new topic to be created, so it was.

The idea is to stop using english words in the URLs as it is better for localization, plus the URLs can be more compact. e.g.

https://meta.discourse.org/tags/pr-welcome
https://meta.discourse.org/t/pr-welcome

6 « J'aime »

What happens if there’s a tag and a topic with the same slug?

1 « J'aime »

That was just an example, not a literal proposal. We’d have to pick some other character.
