There are experts here who surely will have better replies than mine, but still: Maybe you can try to install an older version of Discourse (corresponding to your backup’s one), then restore your backup, and then update Discourse via the command line.

As long as you find an old version where restoring still works, yes. But you might also need to find a version of discourse_docker that is compatible with an old, unsupported version of Discourse. That complicates things a bit. :wink:

Ah, yeah, I think there was another bug. Make sure that the dump.sql is gzipped before you add it to the tar file. The backup must contain a dump.sql.gz.
