Send notification from Theme Component

Hello,

I am currently building a very cool Theme component where after a certain action of a user another user should get a notification e.g. the post owner. I was not able to find any snippets to pull this off from a theme component.

Any help or direction is appreciated.

That’s pretty easy on a plugin, as there are hooks for all of the actions. It will be difficult it’s impossible on a theme component, I think.
