Separate (user) setting to disable direct chat messages

I think it would be a good idea to add a separate setting to disable direct chat messages - I am forever having to ask people to PM me instead as it’s easier for me to refer back to and keep track of conversations that way. Pretty sure admin and mod team members of other forums might feel similarly.

I think that disables chat completely? If so, no (just want to disable direct chat messages - DMs).

Hence the purpose of this thread - to have a separate setting

Some users (like myself) may not want to receive user-to-user chats but are fine with receiving personal messages. In fact, I’ll be completely honest, if they can’t be disabled separately I would not use the plug-in on my own instances.

FWIW I think separate options for each would be a good idea.
