Eu tentei basicamente tudo que consigo imaginar e nada está funcionando, então só posso inferir que isso é um bug.
Coisas que eu tentei:

mesmo assim ele ainda reclama que não há porta 443 (o que não é um problema porque estou atrás de um reverse proxy):

Posso confirmar que a variável de ambiente está configurada corretamente:
Não há muito mais que eu possa fazer aqui, parece que estou sem saída com este script no momento, o que é uma pena porque eu não quero ter que usar SMTP. Parece que ele foi feito apenas para hospedagem em nuvem (onde ter múltiplos serviços em um único IP não é realmente um problema).
