Solutions Checkbox Icon in Search Results

Linds requested that the “answered” checkbox icon be displayed in Discourse search results, in addition to the topics list. This feature would allow users to quickly identify and access topics with official answers, improving the support experience for customers.

Codinghorror and featheredtoast confirmed the request was for Discourse search results, with featheredtoast providing an example of a search query where the checkbox icon is not displayed.

Saman assigned the task to Vinothkannans, who has since implemented the feature in both quick search and full-page search, as shown in the commits linked.

However, Stranik noted that this update may have affected the entire forum, referencing a separate topic regarding a Discourse Solved plugin issue.

I may be missing it, but is there any way to instrument the solutions checkbox plugin so that the visual indicator of “answered” pops up in the search results as well?

When you currently search for something, you can see a lock icon next to the closed topics. It would benefit us greatly to see the checkbox icon next to topics that have been answered in the search results.

Just like in the topics list:

…but in the search results list as well.

Our customers are more likely to get their support questions answered if they have the control to choose to only click into topics that have an official “answer” in some cases.

Eager to hear back. Thanks!

Do you mean in Discourse search results?

That’s what I assume she means - for instance the following search doesn’t show checkboxes:

@vinothkannans can you add to your list to investigate how to add this (both to quick search and full page search)
