Today I created a new topic & then split three replies, moving them to the new topic.
The 20 votes on the topic that the replies were split from were moved over to the new topic, leaving the original topic with none.
I’ve unwound the change now & moving those replies back restored the votes on the original topic 
But obviously moving replies shouldn’t move votes if the OP isn’t merged into a topic too.
