¡Gracias por toda tu ayuda con Discourse!

I just want to take a moment to thank the Discourse team for all of your work on Discourse, and for all of the help you’ve given me by answering my questions. We officially launched our new forum yesterday, and so far it’s really great. Users are highly engaged with the new member forum and there are a lot of great discussions going on. Thanks for this awesome free software! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

We still use a ton of mailing lists:

It would be nice if we could convert them into a Discourse forum, but they have a long history of use as is, so we’ll probably keep them around as mailing lists for a super long time. Another reason to stick with those mailing lists is that some people really dislike JavaScript, so keeping a simple interface makes some people happy. I also looked into Mailman 3 when choosing forum software, but I think Mailman 3 also uses JavaScript, so maybe that’s the direction that forum software is moving these days.

Our forum is for members only, as a perk for being an FSF member. I think that having a public FSF forum would be cool, but we might not have the resources to moderate it. The crowd-sourced moderation that Discourse offers would definitely make that much easier, so that’s still an option.

Thanks again! :slightly_smiling_face:
