El tema Horizon no puede usar el componente Tag icons

I really like the UI design of the Horizon theme, but it seems to have some compatibility issues with the Tag icons component.

When I enable this plugin, nothing changes on my page. Switching to other themes does display the tags properly, but I’d prefer to use this component with the Horizon theme. What should I do to make it work?

Thanks for pointing this out. I have moved this topic to the UX category because I think there is a problem we can look at here.

For the horizon theme @chapoi can answer. I believe she may have intentionally not supported tag icons because the theme is opinionated and tags with icons might look strange with the border she put around tags.

I noticed that tag icons doesn’t work on the foundation theme either. That I think is a UX bug and is worth looking at. I am able to replicate this here on Meta just by switching themes using the theme switcher in the sidebar menu. It works on the meta brand theme that is the default, on the default theme, and on the dark theme. But it doesn’t work on the foundation theme.

(please don’t post the same request in multiple topics. It just creates noise and makes it difficult for us to be as responsive as we would like. I have deleted your other posts about this)

Thank you for your response! I apologize for posting multiple times, I was just eager to resolve this issue and didn’t mean to create any inconvenience. I really hope the Horizon theme can be made compatible with this plugin, as I need this feature quite urgently.:face_holding_back_tears:

While @chapoi is definitely the Horizon expert, I will jump in since she’s on leave for this week.

Horizon does not support any tag display on the topic cards, so it is not compatible with Tag Icons. We are considering adding support for displaying tags on topic cards, which may help move things in the right direction for you, but I am not certain that will cover Tag Icons since that component is really built around the tag display that works on Foundation and in the “table style” topics list.

So there’s a good amount for us to figure out here. At this point I’m not sure when we’ll know more — at the earliest, it’ll be sometime next week, but it will likely be later than that since we’ll need to go through some design work here and attend to other priorities, too. But we’ll follow up here once we have more to share!
