What would happen if I use a public category that is muted by default? (Specifically, I’m thinking of making a subcategory under Team Workflows - Fedora Discussion)
No, we don’t have a method to migrate one component to another, so this will have to be manually done.
No, but this could potentially be added as a feature. A tag sidebar is prioritized over a category sidebar. So when set, a tag sidebar will always be the same regardless of category.
In terms of hierarchy, if you have a sidebar set for a category, subcategory, and tag and are filtered to a topic list containing all of them… the tag will take priority, followed by the subcategory and then the category.
When there are multiple settings using the same category or tag created, the most recently added setting will take priority.
Muting the category or the topic shouldn’t have an impact on the appearance of the content in the sidebar. As long as the person can access the topic, the content should be visible.
Hello. I was looking to use this theme component for my forum, specifically our /categories (home), /hot, and /latest pages only — not each category page. But it seems like it is now not possible to manually type an entry for the “category name” setting as quoted below, you have to pick a category from the drop-down? Would appreciate any clarification!
It seems to be a side effect of sorts, from this change:
