Wordpress SSO with existing Discourse community

Apologies if this question has been answered before, I’ve searched the site but did not see anybody talking about this.

I’ve been running a Discourse community for over a year now so I have hundreds of user accounts already in the Discourse database.

If I were to install the Wordpress SSO plugin for use with my Wordpress site, would the existing Discourse user accounts be copied over to Wordpress, or is this still a manual step?

Existing Discourse users will still need to sign up on your WordPress site, but when they do that, assuming they use the email address that is associated with their Discourse user, they will recover their existing Discourse account.
