There have been a lot of good ideas around this in this thread, the current (still) implementation is awful.
Don’t do it, just do not override powerful shortcuts. Even the old Bulletin Boards approach with several search buttons is more accessible. Find a good way to search a topic or leave it to the user to load all the relevant content into DOM (which is awful as well). One of the co-founders gave the best advice, press it twice. Seems like we are smarter…
