Cannot Remove Old Reactions

The discussion revolves around an issue with the discourse-reactions plugin, where users cannot remove their reactions on old posts. nhcarrigan initially reported that reactions over 24 hours cannot be removed, wondering if this was intended.

darkpixlz and JammyDodger clarified that this is indeed intended, and the time frame can be adjusted through the post undo action window mins admin setting. JammyDodger provided a screenshot of the setting.

darkpixlz suggested separating the undo actions for reactions and flags, proposing a 48-hour window for reactions and 5 minutes for flags. nhcarrigan appreciated the help in resolving the issue.

Lastly, JammyDodger inquired about the possibility of taking back flags, considering the current setting description, and may need to be updated.

Hey friends,

We’re running the discourse-reactions plugin, and one of our mods discovered that you cannot remove a reaction you made on a post if it is too old.

It looks like reactions over 24 hours can’t be removed? Is this intended?

This is intended, you can change it in Settings though.
My forum is down rn but I think it’s something like undo post action timer

Hello and welcome @nhcarrigan :slightly_smiling_face:

As @darkpixlz says, that is set by the post undo action window mins admin setting:

If you’re open to suggestions, then it would be great if the actions could be separated, I want reactions to be undoable for 48 hours, but flags in 5.

Ah! Many thanks!

I was looking in the plugins settings and didn’t see an option - figures I was missing something obvious!

I was about to write that we are always open to Contribute > Feature requests and Contribute > UX changes (which is still true :slightly_smiling_face:), but now I’m not sure if you can actually ‘take back’ a flag? We may need to update the setting description, or I need to figure out what I’m doing wrong. :slightly_smiling_face:
