Hey,
Playing with discourse-chat and I enabled the chat plugin. When I go to the full-screen view of the chat widget, I don’t see a settings button in the corner to add channels. This is what I see:
Any suggestions for how I fix this?
Thanks!
The discussion revolves around an issue with the ‘Create a Channel’ button in the discourse-chat plugin. jonobacon reports that the button is missing in the full-screen view of the chat widget, despite having enabled the plugin.
jammydodger provides a temporary workaround, suggesting that collapsing the full-screen view into ‘chat window’ mode and using the chevron in the top left corner to access the channel menu can help.
jonobacon confirms that this solution doesn’t work due to having a custom theme installed. However, jammydodger further clarifies that this method should still work, and jonobacon later confirms that it does.
jammydodger also discovers that disabling the enable sidebar admin setting brings the chat menu back in full-screen mode, providing an alternative solution.
Finally, mcwumbly notes that the issue will be added to their list to be addressed and made less likely to occur in the future.
Do you have themes installed?
If you click on the chevron in the top left corner of that chat window it will take you to the Channel menu. You should be able to find the
icon with the option to Create Channel in there.
That fixed it! Thanks!
We’ll add it to our list to sort out some way to make this issue less likely to bump into!
