Theme Component Browser Compatibility Issue

Prasanth_Balan reported a browser compatibility issue with the Discourse User Card on Hover component. The user card flickers on Chrome browser, causing multiple requests to the server, and an error from the assets/vendor/jquery/jquery.js path. The issue is not present in Safari and Firefox browsers. The site is running Discourse version v3.0.6.

JammyDodger suggested updating to the latest version (stable is 3.1) to see if the issue persists.

denvergeeks reproduced the bug on their site, which only occurs on Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, and Brave), using the Default theme and the same Discourse User Card on Hover theme component.

Hi Team,

We’re using discourse user card on hover component. If we hover over a user profile on the topics list, the user card flickering on Chrome browser. When I check the browser console I could see it’s hitting too many requests to the server.

It seems error getting from this path assets/vendor/jquery/jquery.js

FYI,
I have tested using safe-mode, browsers Safari and Firefox are working fine. We’re using Discourse version: v3.0.6

Kindly help me on this. Thank you!

Could you try updating to the latest version (stable is 3.1 - 3.1.0: Major Release) and see if you can still reproduce?
