This UX choice is terrible for anyone with bad myopia happening to be viewing the page without corrections (i.e. waking up wanting to quickly check “latest”, say). I literally have to physically move the phone to get the dumb menu at the bottom of the phone in view. Isn’t there a fundamental UX principle about proximity that this nonsense violates? Can you please make this configurable so that people for wrong whom it is uncomfortable can turn it off forever.
