If the S3 bucket has backups as recent as last week, then Discourse has credentials to the bucket. They are probably in app.yml or in the site settings. I have root access. I did do a command line back up, but it pushed to S3. Thanks to @pfaffman ’s comments I’m now realizing I can try pulling the backup from S3 down to local - I just need the time to attempt it.
