For some reason, the AI helper is stuck on the “generating” window and never finishes, and this happens with each of the AI helper’s options. However, the AI bot works normally. I haven’t gotten any error logs from this either, so I can’t seem to isolate the issue. Thus this bug topic.
My instance is fully up to date.

What LLM / provider are you using?
GPT-4o-mini via OpenAI not Azure, however I’m using that exact same LLM for the AI bot which is responding normally.
I waited for 15 minutes but I couldn’t wait any longer so I have to assume that it would just continue on the generating page.
I only have this error from a few days ago. But the number of them hasn’t increased in a few days.

Is this happening for the AI helper in the composer, post menu or both? Do you see any error logs in your browser’s developer console while it’s stuck in “generating”?

I just checked, and I can confirm that it works in the composer so it is only stuck on generating in the post menu.
Yes!
May I PM you the log file? (Don’t want my site floating around here just yet)
Furthermore, I have just noticed a new problem . When using the custom prompt on the selected in the composer, it automatically uses the Discourse instance’s default language (Polish) instead of the language I have set in my preferences (English). As observed in this screenshot:
(My custom prompt was “Turn this into a poem.”)

MachineScholar:

Yes I believe this is intentional. About 10 months ago, we made the change to have composer helper use Site locale over the user’s interface locale:
I just had coincidentally set my interface language to German, and after a long time, I also used the “translate to English” option of the helper in the composer again. Unfortunately, in this combination, it “translates” my German text into German. That was not very helpful
This raises two questions for me:
Is this intentional? While a translation into the language chosen by the user is certainly very helpful when reading other people’s posts, it seems to me to be a hindrance when …
And regarding the issue in the OP, I debugged this with @MachineScholar via PM and it turns out an update of core and AI plugin has resolved the issue
