Yes I understand people’s hesitation with adding the extra click here. @awesomerobot what do you think about this issue, do you think it’s worth adding a user preference around hashtag behaviour? Maybe if we had cards for tags and channels too it would make more sense to have an overall “Display cards for hashtags and mentions” user preference?
For mentions we could redirect to the user page on click if the current user has this preference turned off.
