To recap, some people find this too long inline, if I want to say “check out our Customization > Theme component category” it would be nicer is that was just “theme component” without the parent
but we can’t shorten it to just “theme component” because some sites reuse the same subcategory name across many categories and people want to see which parent category it comes from
the card proposal is to provide a bunch of category info on click, like we do for users, so we could use just the subcategory inline
I could go either way personally, sometimes I’ve found it nice to have the card because I can get quick access to the new topic button and see recent activity without leaving the current topic, but on the other hand I know some people just want the quickest path possible. I also don’t like the full category path inline.
