You’d need a way to export and import all overridden settings. Right now the only way I know is using a backup, but it would be great to find a way that just targets settings and not site content.

You can export/import site settings already:

To simply print out all of the settings that have been changed on your site, run:

rake site_settings:export

If you want to export the settings to a file:

rake site_settings:export > saved_settings.yml

If you want to import settings from a file:

rake site_settings:import < saved_settings.yml

It might take a bit of work to document each one, but a simple way might be to post a new topic here in Meta (suitably tagged etc) outlining all of the customisations using a structure like this:

1. Design concept & demonstration site (if available)
2. Theme as an exported file
3. Theme Components as a list with a brief overview of changed settings
4. Plugins with brief notes on the configuration of each
5. Settings that have been changed from default as a .yml file
