Curious if there was any reasoning why emoji can’t be inserted into topic titles. I’m sure it could be abused - but so could emoji use in general
Additionally could use it to designate topic features:
Possibly a feature limited by trust level.

I think it’s more of a “late to the party” situation. No real reason why they aren’t allowed there, and you can still use the Unicode versions (they’ll only show up in color on mobile + Mac, though).
Well in that case, I’m officially requesting the feature
Think it will add some style and functionality to topics
Your and are another man’s …
This should definitely be disableable or restrictable to staff and/or minimum TL.
Unbridled use is likely to pollute the list pages with “look at ME” use that has nothing to do with the topic.
Exactly, but it might be a useful feature for community managers to direct attention to interesting topics that scales differently than pinning.
Yeah I think it’s worth considering, but only for certain trust levels. Probably TL2 and higher.
or, as admin, I just go remove them and let the OP know why…
Just added this feature. It’s not restricted yet. Let’s see if users indeed abuse it before adding more code

I think this depends on when the new code shows up vs the next beta getting cut.
Just so I don’t pass along incorrect information to SP, this is permitted now based on whether emojis are enabled or not correct?
It isn’t a separate site setting to permit them in Topic Titles (which is fine, just making sure I understand the git commit changes).
That’s correct . It’s currently using the same setting.
One tweak we should maybe make @zogstrip:
Titles could be converted into unicode emoji, at least for the browser. Low pri of course…
