API for not so techie

Hi

I am not a developer, so it is a bit difficult for me to tell what can actually be done using the API from reading the docs, but as far as I understand it is possible to pull all kinds of data regarding a) forum posts (title, category, content etc) and b) users (username, level, badges, post etcs) as well as c) pull reports and put that information on a separate website?

Is that (basically…) correct?
