That’s an interesting use case. I think that script only sends PMs.
Sorry to disappoint, but I suspect this input is just a way to conveniently choose the user you are wanting to send to, not a way to choose to send yourself an email instead of a PM.
You could confirm this by trying a different email address that is not used for any account on your site. I suspect it will not work.
I think it should work, but only for email addresses that aren’t already connected to someone’s profile. If you put a ‘new email’ in there it creates a staged user, sends a PM, and then that gets emailed out.
Though you can still have it sent by email as well as receiving the PM if you’re sending to an existing email address.
If you set your ‘Email me when I am sent a personal message’ on your /preferences/email page to ‘always’ and then when the scheduled report arrives don’t read the PM for about 20 seconds [1] then it should get sent out as an email too.
And then you can adjust your email preference back again if no longer needed.
or whatever your Personal email time window seconds admin setting is if you’ve moved away from the default ↩︎
