Impossibile includere un gruppo ad accesso automatico in un invito

Hi. I’ve asked the AI bot, but it took me on a hallucination, so asking here:

I’m the owner and admin of a private group.

We’ve been using it for years and have thousands of members. Today, I need to invite a group of 20 folks to join, and I want them to be automatically added to a group I created just for them.

When I create the invite, it lets me offer just about all of my groups as options for people to be automatically be added to, but not this one.

I originally set it up as private, but the bot thought this was a problem, so I rebuilt it, but still, no luck.

Any thoughts? I guess I can rename an older group as a hack, but that feels lazy.

Thanks.

Does it help to reload the site? I wonder if the invite modal doesn’t know about the newly created group yet.

well that’s annoying!

the first group didn’t work for one reason. I thought I had given enough time for the replacement group to propagate (I was able to use it to alter the category permissions) but you’re absolutely right. A reload and twenty minutes and it works.

Thank you @Moin

I agree!
I think this is worth a report in UX. It should be possible to choose a group right after creating one without a reload

I’ll pull someone into this topic to take a peek first. If it’s a quick fix, we’ll handle it here. If it needs discussion or tracking longer term, we can spin out a new topic.

I sometimes find it easier when there is a topic in a category where I expect it to be. If a support topic results in a bug fix, for example because it was an easy fix, and the following week someone else has the same problem, it is easier to find the bug fix when the posts are in bug than if they are hidden in some topic in support.
