Change email and username charset to unicode

Hi,

Is it possible to change allowed characters in emails/usernames? For example, allow chinese letters in emails and “+” in usernames. And if yes, how exactly?

I am asking because we would like to synchronize our app users with DiscourseConnect, and we need to ensure that the same emails can be used on both sides.
Currently running a discourse docker instance.

Another question: would we run into the same problem using an Oauth2 plugin?

Thanks. Tried it, and it works for usernames, but not for emails.

Would there be any another possibility, besides changing the email_validator code itself?
